From December 6 to the 10th the Geographical Society of China and Sun Yat-sen University, supported by the Korean Geographical Society, the Association of Japanese Geographers, the National Association of Geographers of India, the Hong Kong Geographic Association and the Macau Geographic and Education Research Association hosted the 4th Asian Geography Conference. It should be noted that this meeting will leave a mark in the history of Asia of the XXI century.
The main part of the event was the signing ceremony of the memorandum on the establishment of the Asian Geographic Association, which was signed by 23 Asian countries, including: China, Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Israel, Iran, Turkey and from Kazakhstan, the memorandum was signed by Kanat Baigarin, Chairman of the Governing Council of the republican public association QazaqGeography.
The main objective of the Asian Geographic Association is to stimulate the development of geography in Asia, the development of research and educational activities in all areas of geography, as well as to promote the dissemination of knowledge about geography in educational, business and government organizations throughout Asia and between member countries.
